Library Offers Computer Coding for Girls
The course, at the James W. Johnson Community Library, is part of the St. Petersburg Library System’s Community Development Initiative.
ST. PETERSBURG – The Girls Who Code program aims to teach young women the basics of computer science and programming in order to close the gender gap in the tech industry.
The program is for girls in grades 6-8. Girls Who Code began Wednesday (March 14) at the James Weldon Johnson Community Library and meets from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through May 16.

The St. Petersburg Library System offers the Girls Who Code program as a part of its Community Development Initiative, a method to enhance the provision of resources, services, and programs focused on the education, economy, ecology, equity, efficiency and engagement of the St. Pete community.
