‘Stuff-a-Bus’ for New Residents from Puerto Rico

HART | Stuff a Bus | Social Services

The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority “Stuff-a-Bus” holiday drive will benefit the people of Puerto Rico, who have been displaced by Hurricane Maria and have resettled in the Tampa Bay area.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority and and Rumba 106.5 have teamed up to ask the community to help Stuff-a-Bus for Puerto Rican residents who have resettled in Hillsborough County after being displaced by Hurricane Maria.

The holiday drive is being held Monday (Dec. 11) through Friday (Dec. 15) at the iHeart Media radio station. Suggested items to stuff the holiday-themed In-Towner include canned food, non-perishable items, new and unwrapped toys, small household goods, clothing and school supplies.

Donations will be collected 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday. All donations benefit the Missions of Miracles Foundation, an organization “dedicated to assisting families and their pets when tragedy, emergency, or natural disaster occur.” Missions of Miracles will help distribute the collected donations throughout the county.

“This is the perfect time of year to bring the magic of the holidays to others,” said HART Chief Executive Officer Katharine Eagan. “We provide a service to the community every day, but the holidays provides an opportunity for the agency to make a real difference in people’s lives and to bring some joy to the community.”

There will be a live broadcast from the donation site with Rumba on-air personality Angel Johnny from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

‘Tis the season! Stop by iHeart Media, 4002 W Gandy Blvd. Tampa,  next week to help HART Stuff-a-Bus for new members of the community.
