Seminole Kicks Off Sock, Soup Drive

The socks will be donated to Operation Military Matters, PEMHS clients, and the Interfaith Food Pantry. The soup will be donated to the Interfaith Food Pantry.

SEMINOLE – Mayor Leslie Waters, in partnership with the Seminole Junior Women’s Club, has begun a “Socks and Soup” drive to kick-off 2019.

The socks collected during the first quarter of 2019 – January, February and March – will be contributed to Operation Military Matters, a non-profit organization in Seminole, to PEMHS clients, and to theInterfaith Food Pantry, 9530 Starkey Road.

Cans of soup will also be collected for the Interfaith Food Pantry.

There will be a drop-off box in the lobby of Seminole City Hall, 9199 113th St. N.

“The citizens, churches, schools, and civic organizations of Seminole are always generous with their giving. Donations of pairs of crew/tube socks, and cans of Campbell soup, will be welcomed by many as the new year begins,” Waters said.

Kathi Mackenstein, president of the Seminole Junior Women’s Club, reflects that her club’s goal is to work toward meeting the needs of clients of various community organizations.
