Tampa Police Investigate Fatal Pawn Shop Shooting
The owner shot and killed a man who, he says, pointed two guns at him, according to the Tampa Police Department.
TAMPA – Police are investigating a fatal shooting at the City Pawn shop.
Eric Jerome Norton, 20, died of his wounds.
The shooting happened about 1:50 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 21) at the shop, 3901 E Hillsborough Ave., according to the Tampa Police Department.
Officers said the preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Norton parked a car in front of the pawn shop and left the engine running as he went inside. The owner of the pawn shop, Arthur Divi, 41, told police that Mr. Norton jumped the counter and pointed two guns at him. Divi fatally shot the man.
Divi has cooperated with officers. Police said he has not been charged.
