St. Pete Police Officer of the Year Named

Scott Cameron is known for his ability to gain voluntary confessions and is often asked to interview difficult subjects. 

ST. PETERSBURG – Scott Cameron was named the 2016 St. Petersburg police Officer of the Year.

Cameron was present with is award last week by the Exchange Club of St. Petersburg and the Pearson Patterson Trust.

Cameron has served since 2003 and is part of the Violent Crimes Task Force. He was nominated to be the 2016 Officer of the Year because he has a great knowledge of suspects across the city. He is known for his ability to gain voluntary confessions and is often asked to interview difficult subjects. While on the Auto Theft Task Force, his leadership and skill in investigations ultimately closed more than 100 auto thefts reaching as far back as 2014.
