Security Guards Shoot, Kill Two Outside Hillsborough Club

The guards said they were in fear of their lives, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – Deputies are investigating a shooting at a club that left two teens dead, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jyhaad D. Grant, 25, and Julissa D. Jackson, 15, died of their wounds.

No charges have been filed against Keyon Williams, 28, and Connor Harm, 18. Both work for A.J. Cardinal Group, LLC doing business as Eagle One Security Force in Tampa. Both Williams and Harm have Florida Statewide Firearms “G” licenses and Florida Security Officer “D” licenses.

The shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. Monday (Jan. 1) at “The Club,” 5809 N 50th St., which is a storage building that is rented out for events. The location was hosting a teen night and was scheduled to be open for the event from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Deputies said that a series of fights inside the event prompted organizers to close their doors early around 10:45 p.m. Between 150 to 200 people were in the process of leaving the event when the armed security guards first heard fireworks and then guns shots. While looking into where the gun shots were coming from, they saw someone firing a weapon from a car and they both returned fire.

No charges are pending against the guards who were in fear of their lives, deputies said. Anyone with any information in reference this the incident is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
