Man Found Dead after Seffner Mobile Home Fire

Deputies and fire officials are investigating. Foul play is not suspected at this time, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

SEFFNER – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating a death in Seffner.

The Hillsborough County medical examiner identified the dead man as Jeremy Welshans, 22, who was temporarily living in the mobile home.

Today (Jan. 24) at 11:06 a.m., a 911 call was received with information that a mobile home was on fire at 10916 Lee St. in Seffner. Hillsborough firefighters put out the fire. Once the fire was out, fire personnel conducted a walk-through and found Mr. Welshans’ body.

Preliminary findings indicate no foul play. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
