Coast Guard Medevacs Man from Cruise Ship in Tampa Bay

He needed medical care, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

ST. PETERSBURG – The Coast Guard medevaced a 39-year-old man from a cruise ship about eight miles south of Port Tampa Bay, according to U.S. Coast Guard officials.

Medevaced was Rushan Pain, 39.

Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg Command Center watchstanders received a cell phone call about 4:39 p.m. from a crew member aboard the Majesty of the Sea reporting that a passenger was suffering from chest pains and needed advanced medical attention.

The watchstanders launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew from Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg.

The boat crew arrived on scene about 5:22 p.m. and transferred Rushan to the RBM. The rescue crew took the man to Station St. Petersburg where awaiting emergency medical services transported him to Bayfront Health for further care.
