The incident appears to be accidental, Pinellas deputies said.

NORTH REDINGTON BEACH – The near-drowning of a 3 year old Sunday (Oct. 1) who was found submerged in the family’s pool appears to be accidental, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Hunter Allan Kelley, 3, of North Redington Beach, was listed in stable condition at All Children’s Hospital, where he was taken after he was pulled from the water.

Kimberly Carr, 52, was babysitting her grandson, Hunter, at her North Redington Beach.when he reportedly went undetected past a locked door into the family’s swimming pool.

Minutes later, Carr discovered him submerged in the family’s swimming pool. Deputies said Carr pulled Hunter from the water, began screaming for assistance and called 911.

A neighbor performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. A deputy who was on routine patrol in the neighborhood heard Carr screaming for help, responded and took over CPR. Madeira Beach Fire Rescue paramedics also arrived and started advanced life support.
