Johnson Named to Insurance Trust Board

Patricia Johnson is a member of the Pinellas Park City Council.

PINELLAS PARK – The Florida Municipal Insurance Trust has appointed Pinellas Park Council member Patricia Johnson to serve on its board of trustees.

“As my constituents know, I am always ready to serve and this is another great opportunity for me to do so,” Johnson said. “I am excited about being appointed to this board of trustees where
I can provide input on these important matters.”

The FMIT offers workers’ compensation, liability, property and health insurance to Florida’s local governments. Governed by elected officials, the FMIT is a  nonprofit, tax-exempt risk-sharing pool that has been in existence for more than 40 years.

Johnson was first elected to the Pinellas Park council in March 2012. She has a long history as a community servant, resident, business owner, and advocate for the elderly and handicapped. Johnson served on the Pinellas Park board of adjustment for five years, one year as chair, and for six years on the Code Enforcement Board.

She serves on the board of the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority and the Florida League of Cities finance committee. She is chair of the transportation disadvantaged committee of the Metropolitan Planning Organization and is on the Board of the Greater Pinellas Country Fair. She has served on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast and the Pinellas Park Boys & Girls Club Unit Advisory Council.

Johnson is a member of the Pinellas Park Police Department Volunteers Mounted Unit, the Florida Alliance for Main Street Fairness and Tampa Bay Executive Committee, and is a past member of the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

Johnson and her husband, Del, own Amber Glen Equestrian Center and Amber Glen Feed Depot in Pinellas Park. She has served more than 27 years in probate and guardianship services, is
a court-appointed guardian for the Sixth Judicial Circuit, and is an elder care consultant.
