Nicholas W Nicholson | Hernando Sheriff | Arrests

Hernando County Commissioner Nicholas W. “Nick” Nicholson was accused earlier this month of running a brothel and paying for a prostitute.

HERNANDO COUNTY – Commissioners on Tuesday (April 24) agreed to ask Gov. Rick Scott to suspend Hernando County Commissioner Nicholas W. “Nick” Nicholson from office.

They also unanimously voted to remove him as vice chair of the commission. They chose commission member John Alloco to serve as vice chair of the commission and Wayne Dukes to serve as second vice chair. Nicholson was not at the meeting.

Nicholson, 71, was arrested Thursday (April 19) and charged with one count of owning, establishing, maintaining, or operating any place, structure, building, or conveyance for the purpose of lewdness, assignation, or prostitution. He was also charged with two counts of purchasing the service of any person engaged in prostitution. (For related story, click here.)
