Jolly represented Florida’s 13th District, encompassing most of Pinellas County, from 2014 to 2017 as a Republican. Defeated in his reelection campaign by former governor Charlie Crist, Jolly has since become a prominent political commentator, critic of President Donald Trump, and advocate for common-sense bipartisanship. In September 2018, he left the Republican Party, citing its departure from Conservative principles and loss of moral foundation.
