Women’s Healthcare Advocate Endorses Kriseman

St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman is seeking a second term.

ST. PETERSBURG – Citing St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Krisesman’s long history of supporting women’s reproductive rights, Barbara Zdravecky, a statewide women’s health advocate, has endorsed him in his reelection bid.

“Mayor Rick Kriseman has been on the front lines fighting to defend women’s reproductive rights since he served in the Florida State House,” Zdravecky said. “Our cities need mayors who are willing to advocate for common sense policies that make health care more accessible and affordable for everyone. St. Petersburg can trust Mayor Kriseman to always be a champion for women’s reproductive health care and basic rights for everyone.”

Zdravecky is the outgoing CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida. She is retiring, effective in January.

“I am honored to have Barbara’s support,” Kriseman said. “For years, Barbara has been an incredible champion for smart health care policy in Florida. I am proud to share Barbara’s same commitment to women and families and vow to continue to fight for the health and well-being of every family in St. Petersburg.”

Kriseman is running for a second term as St. Petersburg mayor, He is facing a challenge from former St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Baker i the nonpartisan race.

Voting by mail has begun. Early voting is Oct. 28-Nov. 5 at all Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections offices. The election is Nov. 7.
