Gina Driscoll is running for the District 6 seat on the St. Petersburg City Council. Voters citywide can cast ballots in the race.

ST. PETERSBURG – Council Vice Chair Lisa Wheeler-Bowman announced her endorsement of Gina Driscoll in the District 6 race for the St. Petersburg City Council.

“I’m endorsing Gina because we can trust her to listen to all of our residents and do the right thing for the city of St. Petersburg,” Wheeler-Bowman said. “She is a public servant at heart, and I know we’ll be able to work together to build stronger neighborhoods throughout the city and bring meaningful economic development to South St. Pete.”

Driscoll said, “I’m so honored to have the support of council Vice Chair Wheeler-Bowman. I have so much respect for the work she’s done for our city, both during her time on City Council and before. I look forward to working with her once I’m elected.”

Driscoll has also been endorsed by council Chair Darden Rice, and Council Members Karl Nurse and Charlie Gerdes.

Driscoll is running for the District 6 seat held by Nurse, who is terming out of office.

She is facing Justin Bean, another first-time candidate in the Nov. 7 general election. Candidates are running citywide for numbered seats.

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 7 general election is Oct. 10. All new voter registration applications received by mail must be postmarked by Oct. 10 to be valid for the Nov. 7 county referendum and St. Petersburg general election. Voters who are already registered to vote in Florida do not need to re-register but can update their voter registration information.
