Warren Has Early Fundraising Success in Re-election Bid

Andrew Warren is running for re-election to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office.

TAMPA – Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren announced that he’s raised more than $100,000 in the first 23 days of his bid for re-election.

The money raised comes from his campaign and an affiliated political committee.

Warren noted that the strong fundraising numbers came during the peak of a contentious seven-way Tampa mayoral election and 24 candidates running for city council. With this initial fundraising push, Warren has $104,000 on hand for the 2020 election.

“It’s very energizing to have such a strong showing of support in the first few weeks of our re-election campaign,” Warren said. “Our supporters, our finance committee, and so many members of this community have said loudly and clearly that they want our progress to continue.”

The initial filing from the campaign and committee shows bipartisan support with political leaders of both parties backing Warren’s re-election effort. Warren is a Democrat.

“The bipartisan support Andrew is receiving reflects his approach to criminal justice,” David B. Singer, partner at Shumaker Loop & Kendrick and Warren’s finance committee chairman, said. “Andrew doesn’t look at these issues through a partisan lens. He’s brought leaders of both parties in the business, legal and political communities together to help gather support and buy-in to enact these reforms. That’s how we create safer neighborhoods and a more just system that reflects the values of our community as a whole. We fully expect that this is just the beginning of an incredibly strong showing of support for Andrew’s re-election campaign.”
