The deadline to register to vote in the St. Petersburg primary election is Monday (July 31).

ST. PETERSBURG – The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections reminds residents in the city of St. Petersburg that Monday (July 31) is the deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 29 primary election.

Registration is required for new voters by this deadline in order to vote in the primary. Voters who are already registered to vote in Florida do not need to re-register but can update their voter registration address.

Voter registration applications are available at any Supervisor of Elections office, public library, tax collector office, government office handling social services or online at VotePinellas.com.

Address changes can be made online at VotePinellas.com, by calling (727) 464-VOTE (8683) or by emailing Election@VotePinellas.com, with birth date included. Any updates, including name changes, signatures and political party affiliation, can be made by completing and signing a voter registration application and returning it to the Supervisor of Elections Office.

All new voter registration applications received by mail must be postmarked by Monday to be valid for the Aug. 29 primary election.

Two races will be on the ballot on Aug. 29 – the race for mayor and for the District 6 seat on the City Council.

Only voters who live in District 6 can vote in that race. The two top votegetters will move to the November general election.

The mayor’s race is open to voters citywide. If no one candidate gets 50 percent plus one vote, the two top votegetters will move on to the Nov. 7 general election.
