Former State Senator Endorses Kushmer in U.S. House Race

Danny Kushmer is running for the District 15 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

BRANDON – Former State Senator Paula Dockery has endorsed Danny Kushmer in the race for the District 15 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I would encourage all of my Republican friends in Florida Congressional District 15 to vote for Danny Kushmer,” Dockery said.

Dockery, served in the Florida House from 1996 until 2002 when she was elected to the Florida Senate. She served a district encompassing parts of Polk, Osceola, Lake, Sumter and Hernando counties.

Kushmer has continued his momentum as he has moved toward election day, his campaign said.

“I am honored to have the support of Paula Dockery, she was a stable force in Tallahassee as a conservative and it is my honor for her to get behind my campaign for Congressional District 15,” Kushmer said.

Kushmer supports term limits for Congress and Second Amendment rights. He said he will work diligently to support President Donald Trump in building the wall and eliminating sanctuary cities.

Kushmer is a conservative Republican living in Brandon with his wife, Cally, three rescue dogs and a cat. They are the proud parents of four grown children.

Kushmer said he looks forward to working toward a balanced budget, expanded mental health care coverage and term limits. He has pledged to serve only eight years if elected.

Kushmer is one of five candidates on today’s (Aug. 28) Republican primary ballot in CD 15, which includes portions of Hillsborough, Lake and Polk counties..The winner of today’s Republican primary will face the winner of today’s Democratic primary and three write-in candidates in the Nov. 6 general election.

The polls are open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
