Lee Lowry is running for the District 4 seat on the Tampa City Council in the March 5 election.

TAMPA – Lee Lowry, candidate for Tampa City Council, District 4, said she is honored to have the endorsement of former state Rep. Faye Culp.

Culp, a long-time South Tampa public servant said, “I have met Lee Lowry and gotten to know her and I am certain she will be an excellent addition to the Tampa City Council. Her work on the Florida Statewide   Council on Human Trafficking as an appointee of Gov. [Rick] Scott; on the Citizens Review Board for the Tampa Police Department as an appointee of Mayor Buckhorn; along with her vast volunteer background in civic causes will bring an element to the council that is needed. I look forward to supporting her efforts and to her serving all of Tampa.”

Lowry is immediate past chair of the State Public Affairs Committee of the Junior Leagues of Florida, is an appointee of the Hillsborough County Commission to the Hillsborough Citizens Advisory Committee, and volunteers through St. John’s Episcopal Church in support of Faith Café.

Before that, she was the director of development and communications at St. John’s Episcopal Church and Parish Day School and spent  several  years as the president, CFO and COO of the Junior League of Tampa.

Lowry said she is looking forward to a robust campaign meeting neighbors across the district and to serving the citizens of the entire city of Tampa. She said she will work to improve infrastructure, alleviate traffic congestion, keep children and families safe while making Tampa’s neighborhoods better places to live, work and play.

Lowry is facing two other candidates in the nonpartisan race for District 4 – Bill Carlson and Sal Guagliardo Jr. The election is March 5.
