PASCO COUNTY – Alex Sink, Florida’s former chief financial officer, has endorsed Linda Jack, who is running for the Florida House of Representatives.

“We need Linda fighting for us in Tallahassee,” Sink said. “She’s committed to full funding of our public education system, equality for all our friends and neighbors and commonsense reforms to reduce gun violence, making her an ideal candidate for State Representative. We can’t let this opportunity for new leadership slip by – that’s why I’m encouraging all my friends and supporters to join me and work to elect Linda Jack.”

Jack, a Democrat, is seeking to unseat Republican incumbent Amber Mariano in the Nov. 6 general election.

Jack is a native Floridian who put herself through college. She started out with a career in music, both performing and teaching. When she was nearly 40, she went back to school to take the required courses to pursue a second career by earning her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2006.

If elected, Jack said she will be a champion for public schools and fight for commonsense reforms to reduce “rampant gun violence” in Florida and will seek equality for LGBT Floridians.

HD 36 includes the western portion of Pasco County from Pinellas County to Hernando County. It includes Hudson, Bayonet Point, Jasmine Estates, Port Richey, New Port Richey East, Elfers, Beacon Square, Key Vista and Holiday.
