Nicholas Glover is running for the District 3 seat on the Tampa City Council in the March 5 election.

TAMPA – Nicholas Glover has received the endorsement of Sean Shaw and Tammy Charles in his campaign for Tampa City Council.

Shaw and Charles appeared in a video shared by the campaign voicing their support for Nicholas and reflecting on his service to Tampa families.

“Nicholas will move Tampa forward and build a city that works for everyone,” Shaw said. “We deserve an advocate who brings people together to address the issues we face. That’s why I’m endorsing Nicholas Glover and why I’m encouraging my supporters to join us.”

Shaw is a former Florida insurance consumer advocate, state representative, and candidate for attorney general. The at-large council seat Glover seeks to represent includes Shaw’s district as state representative. Shaw hosts a weekly radio show and continues his advocacy through numerous non-profits and political organizations in Tampa Bay.

Charles was recently the co-chair of the MLK Leadership Breakfast. She also founded Tampa Bay Spark, an organization that promotes entrepreneurship and tech development. She is a recipient of the Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Deanne Dewey Roberts Emerging Leader Award. Professionally, Charles works with area businesses and nonprofits to expand their community engagement and contribute to their neighborhoods.

“Nicholas has a passion for our communities,” Charles said. “He has a vision for Tampa that lifts up all families and all neighborhoods. I’m endorsing Nicholas because we need new leadership. We need someone who can walk the walk – not just talk the talk.”

The new video released by the Glover campaign shares his upbringing and the values he’ll bring to the Tampa City Council.

“Our story is not unique – it’s about generational growth,” Glover said. “My father worked in a factory and my mother picked up a second job to provide for us. They taught me that no matter how hard you were working, you always need to make time to give back.”

Glover is running in the at-large District 3 race for Tampa City Council. He faces three opponents in the March 5 election: John Dingfelder, Stephen Lytle, and Vibha “Ms. V” Shevade.  If no candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two candidates will advance to a runoff.
