ST. PETERSBURG – The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 43 has endorsed Brandi Gabbard for the District 2 seat on the St. Petersburg City Council.

This makes the second police endorsement for Gabbard. The Sun Coast Police Benevolent Association has also endorsed her.

“I’m honored to announce that the Fraternal Order Of Police Lodge 43 is endorsing Brandi Gabbard. As candidate for District 2, I find no other candidate better suited for this position. Talking with her about the past, current, and future of the city of St. Petersburg Police Department, I find she has a clear view for moving forward. Her commitment to public safety is rational and progressive in order to keep the citizens safe. I look forward to working with Brandi on public safety in the future,” FOP President Douglas Weaver said.

Gabbard said, “With public safety concerns being top of mind for voters in St Petersburg, it is my honor to have such a strong relationship with our police officers. I look forward to working alongside of them to support the needs or our officers as they continue their commitment to keep our residents safe.”

Gabbard serves as vice president of the Barcley Estates Homeowners Association. She is a member of the city of St. Petersburg Program for Public Information Task Force on Flood Insurance and is a member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce’s Public Policy Committee and its Transportation Task Force.
