Pinellas Bus Passengers Get Free Rides to Vote

Vote | Election | Voter Registration

This is not the first year PSTA has offered free rides to the polls on election day and officials say it won’t be the last.

PINELLAS COUNTY – The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority will provide free rides to the polling places during Tuesday’s (Nov. 6) election.

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., registered voters can get a free roundtrip ride on any PSTA bus or trolley by showing a valid Pinellas voter information card upon boarding.

“Everyone should have easy access to the polls on Election Day and this is a way we can help our residents have a stress-free voting experience,” PSTA CEO Brad Miller said.

This is not the first year PSTA has offered rides to voting residents and it will not be the last.

“We intend on providing free rides to voters in all future elections,” Miller said. “If we can help get more voters out to the polls and make their day a little easier, then we have served one of our many purposes.”

Riders are encouraged to prepare for their trip by identifying their polling location and which routes will take them there before traveling. PSTA bus operators will not have this information available. For help with trip planning, riders can call the InfoLine at (727) 540-1900 or go to PSTA.net.
