Peters Hosts Meet and Greet in Pinellas Commission Race

Kathleen Peters is running for the District 6 seat on the Pinellas County Commission.

SEMINOLE – Kathleen Peters, who is running for the Pinellas County Commission, has scheduled a meet and greet tonight (July 19).

The Pints & Pins with Peters event is from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Seminole Lanes, 8668 Park Blvd. in Seminole. The meet and greet is billed as a pizza and bowling night in support of Kathleen Peters for County Commission District 6. From 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m., join Peters in the Seminole Lanes Pizza Pub for gourmet pizzas and local beer samples. Stick around from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and bowl with Peters’ team. Peters, a former South Pasadena mayor, is the District 69 representative in the Florida House of Representatives where she serves on the commerce committee, ways and means, government operations and technology appropriations subcommittee, and serves as chair for the energy and utilities committee.

Peters is one of three Republicans running for the District 6 seat on the Pinellas commission. The others are outgoing state Rep. Larry Ahern and civic activist Barb Haselden. The winner of the Aug. 28 primary will face Democrat Amy Kedron in the Nov. 6 general election.

District 6 is a single-member district meaning only those voters who live in it are able to vote for the candidate. District 6 includes northeast St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park, Seminole, and the southern beach communities of Redington Shores, North Redington Beach, Redington Beach, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach and Tierra Verde.

Voters have until July 30 to register to vote or change their party affiliation for the Aug. 28 primary.
