Rick Baker, who served as St. Petersburg mayor from 2001 to 2010, is trying to get his old job back.

ST. PETERSBURG – Former St. Petersburg mayor Don Jones joined Bob Ulrich, Dave Fischer and Bill Foster to make it unanimous – every living former St. Petersburg mayor has endorsed Rick Baker for mayor of St. Petersburg.

The group, which includes Democrats and Republicans, emphasized the importance of keeping partisan politics out of St. Petersburg.

“I am excited and pleased that Rick Baker is offering his experience and service to again lead our city. St. Petersburg has been an important part of my life for over 60 years and Rick Baker’s years as mayor were exceptional,” Jones said.

Baker said, “The mayors who have helped build the great city we enjoy today care deeply about our future. Having their support means the world to me.”

Baker is running against incumbent Rick Kriseman in the Nov. 7 election.

Mail ballots were sent out early this month and early voting began last Saturday (Oct. 28).

Early voting will be available through Sunday (Nov. 5) at all three Supervisor of Elections Offices. The early voting polls are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday:

Election Service Center, 13001 Starkey Road, Largo (Starkey Lakes Corporate Center)
Pinellas County Courthouse, 315 Court St., Room 117, Clearwater (first floor, north side)
County Building, 501 First Ave. N., St. Petersburg (entrance on 5th Street)

Ballot Drop‐off Locations
Voted  mail  ballots  can  be  dropped  off  at  any  Elections  Office  or  designated  ballot  drop‐off  location  during  pecified days and hours.
The following remote ballot drop‐off sites will be available through Monday (Nov. 6) specified hours; some  locations  are  open  Saturdays  –  all  are  closed  for  ballot  drop  off  on  Election  Day.  A  complete schedule is included in mail ballot kits and also available online at VotePinellas.com:

Election employees are stationed with secure ballot boxes inside each location to assist and hand out stickers saying, “I Voted.” Voted mail ballots may also be dropped off at any of the three Elections Offices. Voted mail ballots must be received at one of the three Supervisor of Elections Offices by 7 p.m. Election Day. Voters are advised to allow at least ONE WEEK for their ballot to be returned by mail to the Supervisor of  Elections  Office.  Voted  mail  ballots  cannot  be  accepted  at  polling  places.
