Lee Lowry is running for the District 4 seat on the Tampa City Council.

TAMPA – Lee Lowry has filed paperwork to run for the open District 4 seat on the Tampa City Council.

Lowry is a long-time south Tampa resident with a strong history of public service. She serves as the lead fundraiser for the Hillsborough Community College Foundation. Before that, she was director of development and communications at St. John’s Episcopal Church and Parish Day School and spent several years as the president and CFO and COO of the Junior League of Tampa.

Lowry serves on the Florida Statewide Council on Human Trafficking as an appointment of former Gov. Rick Scott. She is the immediate past chair of the state public affairs committee of the Junior Leagues of Florida and is a member of the Citizens Review Board of the Tampa Police Department as an appointment of Mayor Bob Buckhorn.

Lowry said she is looking forward to a robust campaign meeting neighbors across the district and to serving the citizens of the entire city of Tampa. She said she will work to improve infrastructure, keep children and families safer, and make Tampa’s neighborhoods better places to live, work and play.

The District 4 seat is currently held by Harry Cohen who is vacating it to run for mayor. Two others have filed to run for the District 4 seat – Bill Carlson and Salvatore Guagliardo Jr.

The nonpartisan election is March 5. The last day to register to vote in the Tampa municipal election is Feb. 4.
