Dan Liedtke is running for reelection to the Gulfport City Council.

GULFPORT – Dan Liedtke, who is running for reelection to the Gulfport City Council, has scheduled a campaign kickoff.

The event is planned for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 6) at Pia’s Trattoria, 3054 Beach Blvd. S in Gulfport. Light hor d’oeuvres will be provided. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Liedtke is running for reelection to Ward 1 on the Gulfport City Council. He is facing lawyer Bruce Plesser in the March 13 election.

Gulfport has a council-manager form of government in which a five-member council, made up of a mayor and four council members, set policy and pass a budget while a professional city manager oversees the daily activities of the city. Council meetings are generally held the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Council members are paid $10,800 a year.
