She will help coordinate campaign efforts in the Tampa Bay area.

TAMPA BAY – The Levine for Governor campaign has expanded its operations with the hire of Jocelyn Mund as the Bay Area Regional director.

Raised in Florida, Mund brings deep local knowledge and organizational expertise to the campaign, most recently handling community outreach and public events as deputy finance director in St. Petersburg for U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, D-St. Petersburg.

“We are thrilled to have Jocelyn join our team, as we continue to expand our efforts to reach voters in every part of our state. With Jocelyn’s expertise and incredible organizing abilities, we are more equipped than ever to build a successful grassroots 67-county strategy, building our movement throughout the critically important Bay area and beyond,” campaign manager Matthew Van Name said.

Mund began her career in politics six years ago as an organizer for President Barack Obama’s 2012 election campaign and the inaugural committee. She has since held positions in Florida and D.C. politics, including with Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas; the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee; and Crist’s 2014 gubernatorial campaign.

“Mayor Levine is an exciting candidate, with an exciting vision for Florida, and I am grateful for this one-of-a-kind opportunity. I can’t wait to hit the ground running, helping to build grassroots movement in a part of Florida that I love so much,” Mund said.

Levine, the former mayor of Miami Beach, is one of six Democrats who have announced they are running for governor. The primary is Aug. 28 and the general election is Nov. 6.
