Kriseman Hires Campaign Manager for Reelection Bid
This is the first hire for St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman’s reelection campaign.
ST. PETERSBURG – Kriseman for Mayor announced the hire of Jacob Smith to manage Mayor Rick Kriseman’s reelection campaign.
A Florida native, Smith has worked on several campaigns in the Sunshine State, including President Barack Obama’s re-election push, former Gov. Charlie Crist’s 2014 gubernatorial bid, and Kriseman’s first campaign for mayor. In 2013, Smith ran Kriseman’s field program, building the largest ground game of any municipal candidate in St. Petersburg history. Most recently, Smith ran Hillary Clinton’s organizing program in Michigan.
“I’m excited to have Jacob as a part of my reelection team,” Kriseman said. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in the past three years, and I’m excited to grow our campaign so we can keep making progress on our vision for St. Petersburg.”
“Being a part of the team that elected Mayor Kriseman was an incredible experience” Smith said. “I’m honored that the mayor asked me to be a part of it again. The mayor has gotten a lot done since he took office. We’re excited to talk about how far St. Petersburg has come under Mayor Kriseman’s leadership.”
To date, Kriseman for Mayor and an affiliated committee have raised $260,000. This is the campaign’s first staff hire.
The St. Petersburg municipal primary is Aug. 29. The general election is Nov. 7.
