TAMPA – A fundraiser for Chris Hunter, who is running for the District 12 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, has been set for Friday (Sept. 7).

Joining Hunter will be Alex Sink, a former chief financial officer for the state, and Andrew Warren, the Hillsborough state attorney. The fundraiser is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tampa Club, 101 E Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa.

Hunter, a Democrat, is running against Republican incumbent Gus Bilirakis for CD 12, which includes all of Pasco and the northern parts of Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.

Hunter is a former FBI agent who most recently served as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice on the agency’s health-care fraud strike force. He currently teaches at the Stetson University College of Law and the University of Tampa. He lives in Trinity with his wife and four children.

Among other issues, Hunter has said he stands for a strong America, access to quality, affordable health-care for all, and maintaining the ban on offshore drilling.
