NEW PORT RICHEY – Chris Hunter, a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, is hosting a community conversation over coffee.

The event, which is open to the public, is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday (April 17) at the Starbucks, 2914 Little Road, New Port Richey.

The coffee is designed to let voters get to know Hunter, share the issues that matter most, and “engage in civil dialogue.” Hunter said he will be holding conversations throughout District 12. To RSVP, go to facebook.com.

Hunter, a former federal prosecutor, said he is running because he believes public service is a privilege and “not an entitlement program for career politicians.” He adds that he wants to “renew our shared American values and restore honest American service for all of us.”

Five of them, including Hunter, are Democrats: Stephen Perenich, Robert Tager,, Sunil Thomas, and Kimberly Walker. Angelika Purkis, who has no party affiliation, is also an announced candidate for CD 12.

CD 12 includes all of Pasco County and portions of Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.

The primary is Aug. 28. The general election is Nov. 6.
