Barb Haselden is running for the District 6 seat on the Pinellas County Commission.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Barb Haselden, a candidate for the District 6 seat on the Pinellas County Commission, has scheduled three fundraisers this week.

Haselden promises to make a major announcement “affecting Pinellas County’s future” at the events, which feature comedian and actor Tim Watters.

Watters is widely credited with popularizing the modern art of political impersonation for more than 25 years, making more than 200 appearances on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Watters will take on the larger-than-life persona of real estate mogul, reality TV star, and President Donald J. Trump.

“These events being held around the district will bring people together for important information, an exciting announcement and lots of fun with first class comedy to lighten our spirits! Don’t miss out on one of these events,” Haselden said.

The events are all scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and feature complimentary refreshments. The scheduled events:

Tuesday (June 26), Sunken Gardnes, 1825 Fourth St. N, St. Petersburg;
Thursday (June 28), the Club at Treasure Island, 400 Treasure Island Causeway;
Saturday (June 30), Pasrk View Room, Seminole City Park, 7464 Ridge Road, Seminole.

Haselden is a community activist best known for spearheading the No Tax for Tracks movement that helped defeat Greenlight Pinellas.

Haselden is one of three Republicans running for the District 6 seat on the Pinellas Commission. The others are state Reps. Kathleen Peters and Larry Ahern. Democrat Amy Kedron is also running for the seat, which is currently vacant after the recent death of John Morroni.

District 6 is a single-member district meaning only those voters who live in it are able to vote for the candidate. District 6 includes northeast St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park, Seminole, and the southern beach communities of Redington Shores, North Redington Beach, Redington Beach, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach and Tierra Verde.

The primary is Aug. 28. The general election is Nov. 6. The last day to register to vote in the primary or to change political parties to vote in the primary is July 30.
