Nicholas Glover had announced a run for the District 2 seat but has switched races. Both are citywide seats.

TAMPA – Nicholas Glover announced his candidacy this week for District 3 on the Tampa City Council.

He had previously been running in District 2. Both districts are citywide. He will be filing paperwork with the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office.

“I announced my candidacy in November because I’m committed to serving the people of Tampa. Running in District 3 allows me to still advocate for the same voters citywide and continue my campaign of inclusion and bold action for our city,” Glover said.

Glover also announced the hiring of Jordan Pride to serve as campaign manager. In addition to running day-to-day operations of the campaign, Pride will launch Glover’s voter communication effort starting with a day of action on Saturday (Jan. 12).

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jordan Pride to our team as campaign manager,” Glover said. “Her work engaging young voters and building coalitions has been a big part of wins around Tampa Bay and Florida.”

Pride is a native of Florida who has worked for years on campaigns from local to national office. She was a community engagement specialist for the Florida Democratic Party working to elect Rick Kriseman for mayor of St. Petersburg and Margaret Good for State House in Sarasota. Pride was also the statewide data director for NextGen America which mobilized students to vote on 40 college campuses throughout the state.

“I’ve been very fortunate to work with some incredible public servants, activists, and volunteers to move our state forward,” Pride said. “Nic is working to bring people together so we can take on the big issues facing Tampa. He’s exactly the kind of leader we need and I’m very excited to share his message with voters.”

Team Glover will be meeting at Glover’s home Saturday to launch the campaign’s first day of action. For information or to RSVP, please email Jordan Pride at Jordan@VoteNicholasGlover.com.

Three others have announced candidacies for the District 3 seat – John Dingfelder, Stephen M. Lytle and Vibha Shevade. The election is March 5.
