Fundraiser Set for Webb in HD 69 Race

Jennifer Webb is running for Florida House District 69.

GULFPORT – A fundraiser is planned Tuesday (Jan. 29) to benefit the campaign of Jennifer Webb, who is running for Florida House District 69.

The fundraiser, billed as the Ruth’s List Fundraiser and Meet and Greet for Jennifer Webb, is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at ArtsXchange St Pete, 515 22nd St. S in St. Petersburg. Hosts for the event, which will be in artist Katee Tully’s studio, are  Ruth’s List, Alex Sink , Betty Castor, Sam Bell, Theresa Darlington, Vicki Dunn, Jan Sher, and Dr. and Mrs. J. Howard Johnston. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided and a cash bar will be available.

Webb said she is running to represent the interests of working families, to champion economic growth that is equitable and fair, to fund quality public education and end high stakes testing , and to promote environmental and energy policies that will protect Florida’s greatest assets – drinking water, beaches, springs and other natural beauty.

She is running for the  HD 69 seat currently held by Kathleen Peters who is running for the Pinellas County Commission. Fellow Democrat Javier Centonzio has also announced his candidacy for the seat as have Republicans Ray Blacklidge and Jeremy Bailie.

HD 69 includes Redington Shores, North Redington Beach, Redington Beach, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach and the mainland communities of South Pasadena, Gulfport, Kenneth City and portions of St. Petersburg and the unincorporated Lealman area.

Qualifying for the race is noon June 18 through noon June 22. The primary is Aug. 28 and the general election is Nov. 6.
