Ex-State Rep Endorses Patel in Hillsborough Commission Race

Aakash Patel is running for the District 7 seat on the Hillsborough County Commission.

TAMPA – Rich Glorioso, a former state representative from East Hillsborough County, has endorsed  Aakash Patel for Hillsborough County Commission.

Glorioso, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, was elected to the state House of Representatives in 2004 and served four terms. Before serving in the House, Glorioso served as a Plant City commissioner from 1998 to 2004.

“I am honored to endorse Aakash Patel in his run for Hillsborough County Commission. He has shown his strong conservative values as he has served on the Early Learning Coalition and in the way he has grown his business. He will be a strong advocate for conservative initiatives when he serves on the commission. I fully support him and encourage everyone I know to vote for Patel,” Glorioso said.

Patel said, “It is such an honor to have the support of Rep. Glorioso. Rich has been a great conservative advocate for transportation, economic development and community issues. I am humbled by the continued outpouring of support from Representative Glorioso and the voters I meet daily as we move closer to Election Day”.

Patel, the founder of Elevate, Inc. is running for Hillsborough County Commission District 7. He said he looks forward to working on issues important to residents of Hillsborough County including transportation, public safety and government efficiency among many others.

Patel is running for the District 7 seat on the Hillsborough Commission. His opponent in the Republican primary is Todd Marks. Early voting has begun in Hillsborough County. Primary election day is Aug. 28.
