Three seats are up for grabs on the Safety Harbor City Commission.

SAFETY HARBOR – Qualifying opens Tuesday (Jan. 2) for the upcoming Safety Harbor election.

Seats for Districts 1, 2, and 3 will be on the ballot. They are currently held by Scott Long, Cliff Merz and Andy Zodrow, respectively. All three have announced they plan to run for reelection.

Safety Harbor has a commission-manager form of government in which a five member commission – a mayor and four commissioners – set policy and pass a budget while a professional manager oversees the day-to-day activities of the city.

Qualifying opens at noon and closes at noon Jan. 9. The nonpartisan election is March 13.
