Three candidates qualified to run for the two available seats on the Kenneth City Town Council.

KENNETH CITY – Wanda Dudley won another term as mayor of Kenneth City when no one showed up to run against her at the close of qualifying Friday (Dec. 22).

The town will still have an election in March. Former council member Ron Sneed qualified to run against incumbents Barbara Roberts and Carl Troup for the two available seats on the Town Council.

Kenneth City, with a population of about 5,100, lies along 54th Avenue N in south Pinellas County between St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park. The unincorporated Lealman area lies on both the east and west sides of Kenneth City.

It has a council-manager form of government in which a mayor and four council members set policy and pass a budget while a professional manager oversees the daily activities of the town. The mayor serves a three-year term and is paid $6,000 a year. Council members serve two-year terms and are paid $3,600 a year. The mayor and council members are elected town-wide in a nonpartisan election. The election is March 13. The two top votegetters will take office.
