The Constitution Revision Commission is reviewing Florida’s Constitution. Suggested changes to the state Constitution will go before the voters in November.

ST. PETERSBURG – The Florida Constitution Revision Commission has one last stop on its statewide “road to the ballot box” public hearing tour – St. Petersburg.

The CRC is scheduled to meet from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday (March 13) at the University Student Center on the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg campus, 200 Sixth Ave. S. The meeting is open to the public.

If you’d like to speak before the CRC, complete an appearance form and bring your copy to the meeting. Forms will also be available to complete at the meeting location. Once every 20 years, Florida’s Constitution provides for the creation of a 37-member revision commission for the purpose of reviewing Florida’s Constitution and proposing changes for voter consideration. The CRC meets for about one year, traveling the state of Florida, identifying issues, performing research and possibly recommending changes to the Constitution.

Any amendments proposed by the CRC would be placed on the 2018 General Election ballot. For additional information, go to flcrc.gov.
