Blacklidge Schedules Fundraiser

Republican Ray Blacklidge is running for Florida House District 69.

GULFPORT – A fundraiser is scheduled for Ray Blacklidge. who is running for the Florida House District 69 seat.

The “Running with Ray” reception is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Pasadena Yacht and Country Club, 6300 Pasadena Point Blvd., Gulfport. The event will offer hos d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

Sponsors of the reception include U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Plant City, former Republican state Rep. Jim Frishe, Pinellas County Tax Collector Charles Thomas, Seminole Mayor Leslie Waters and Redington Beach Mayor Nick Simons.

Blacklidge is a lawyer and co-owner and operator of a family of companies including Modern USA Insurance Co. and American Traditions Insurance Co. He lives in Madeira Beach and is married with five children and three grandchildren.

Blacklidge said he will fight for jobs, law enforcement and against illegal immigration and sanctuary cities. He said he wants clean beaches with no offshore fracking and drilling. Blacklidge said he will be dedicated to veterans’ issues and concerns.

Blacklidge is running for the HD 69 seat currently held by Kathleen Peters who is running for the Pinellas County Commission. Fellow Republican Jeremy Bailie and Democrats Jennifer Webb and Javier Centonzio are also running for the seat.

HD 69 includes Redington Shores, North Redington Beach, Redington Beach, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach and the mainland communities of South Pasadena, Gulfport, Kenneth City and portions of St. Petersburg and the unincorporated Lealman area.

Qualifying for the race is noon June 18 through noon June 22. The primary is Aug. 28 and the general election is Nov. 6.
