Blacklidge Schedules Fundraiser in State House Race

Ray Blacklidge is running for the District 69 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.

PINELLAS PARK – Ray Blacklidge, a candidate for the District 69 seat in the Florida House of Representatives, has scheduled a fundraiser.

The fundraiser is planned for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday (Oct. 29) at Da Sesto’s, 7206 66th St. N in Pinellas Park. Hosts for the event are Turnkey Roofing of Florida, Bankers Financial Corp., and Mayors Max Elson of South Pasadena, Bill McQueen of North Redington Beach, and Leslie Waters of Seminole. Blacklidge is a lawyer and businessman who, along with members of the local Jerger family and others, owns and operates a family of companies including Modern USA Insurance Company and American Traditions Insurance Company.  Modern USA and American Traditions serve mobile homeowners, condominium residents and traditional single family homeowners.  These companies were founded to offer Floridians affordable alternatives to Citizens and other faraway insurance companies.

He and his wife, Lisa, live in Madeira Beach. They have five children and three grandchildren.

Blacklidge is a conservative Republican. He is facing Democrat Jennifer Webb in the general election for the District 69 seat in the State House. HD 69 covers the south Pinellas beach communities from Redington Shores to Fort DeSoto, as well as portions of St. Petersburg, Gulfport, Kenneth City, and Pinellas Park.
