First Ballots Mailed to Military Voters in Upcoming Pinellas City Elections

Twelve Pinellas cities have elections on March 13.

PINELLAS COUNTY – The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office mailed a total of 757 ballots to absent military and overseas voters on Friday (Jan. 26) for the March 13 municipal elections.

Twelve municipalities are conducting elections on March 13: town of Belleair, city of Belleair Beach, city of Clearwater, city of Gulfport, city of Indian Rocks Beach, town of Kenneth City, city of Madeira Beach, city of Pinellas Park, town of Redington Beach, city of Safety Harbor, city of South Pasadena, and city of Treasure Island.

Absent military and overseas voters include all active-duty military, their spouses and dependents currently absent from their places of residence, and civilians who are U.S. citizens residing outside the United States.

A ballot mailing to approximately 58,000 domestic voters is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 6. State law requires domestic ballots to be mailed between 35 and 28 days before an election. Domestic voters are civilian voters residing within the U.S. and active-duty military voters living in Pinellas County.

Additional mail ballot requests will be fulfilled as received. To request a mail ballot, go to VotePinellas.com, call 727-464-VOTE (8683), or email MailBallot@VotePinellas.com. The deadline to request that a ballot be mailed is 5 p.m. March 7.

Voters have until Feb. 12 to register to vote in one of the municipal elections. Online voter registration is available at VotePinellas.com.

Daily ballot requests, ballot mailing updates and statistics on voted ballots received by the Supervisor of Elections will be posted to VotePinellas.com.
