Jeff Larsen is running for the District 2 at-large seat on the Pinellas County School Board.

TARPON SPRINGS – After receiving the endorsement of Pinellas Teachers, Florida NOW, the Suncoast PBA, and the Florida AFL-CIO, 17 Pinellas County leaders announced their support for Jeff Larsen in his run for School Board.

“Jeff Larsen has a great history of service. His leadership on the Tarpon City Council combined with his dedication as a public school teacher give him the needed background to be a strong voice for our values on the Pinellas School Board. Jeff understands the issues and is ready to lead,” Pinellas County Commissioner Charlie Justice said.

Larsen served as commissioner and vice mayor of Tarpon Springs from 2010 to 2016 in addition to volunteering on community boards.

“Jeff Larsen has a proven track record serving our community. As a father, husband, educator, and Vice Mayor, Jeff understands the issues we face from all angles and is ready to lead on day one. He’s the clear choice to be our next School Board Member and I proudly endorse his campaign,” said Pinellas County Commissioner Pat Gerard.

Larsen and his wife send both their boys to Pinellas public schools. He’s also spent his time coaching boys and girls basketball for the past 14 years at Gulf Middle School in Pasco County.

“It’s very humbling to have so many dedicated public servants stand up to endorse my candidacy,” Larsen said. “There is no single solution to the issues we face. It takes a team of dedicated people working together to solve our problems. I look forward to working with all of our local leaders, teachers, parents, and students to make sure our kids are receiving a world class education.”

Larsen is running for the District 2 seat on the Pinellas School Board, which is currently held by Terry Krassner, who is running for reelection. Also in the race is Lisa N. Cane.

Voters from across Pinellas can vote in the District 2 race. The race is non-partisan. The election is Aug. 28. The last day to register to vote in the Aug. 28 primary is July 30.
