All cats and dogs older than four months can be adopted free of charge during the Yappy Day adoption promotion from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday (April 30). The adoption fee for all puppies younger than four months and small breed dogs will be $25.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Yappy Day is here again at Pinellas County Animal Services.  To encourage pet adoptions, the shelter is holding a special Yappy Day adoption promotion from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday (April 30). 

During this promotion, dogs older than four months and all cats can be adopted free of charge. The adoption fee for all puppies younger than four months and small breed dogs will be $25. All dogs and cats that are up for adoption have been spayed or neutered, licensed, fully vaccinated and microchipped, which totals $200 in services. Rabies vaccines for all pets will also be offered at a reduced fee of $5 with the purchase of a Pinellas County license for $20 at the shelter from 1 to 4 p.m. that day.

Adoption counselors will be on hand to ensure the animals are being placed in good homes. Renters looking to adopt a new pet are encouraged to bring a copy of their lease that states that animals are welcome.

Pinellas County Animal Services is located at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo. Normal hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the adoption center closing at 5:30 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and services include adoptions. Rabies vaccinations are administered Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.The facility is closed all Pinellas County holidays.
