The teens would help with dog walking. Applications are due by Saturday (June 11).

PINELLAS COUNTY – Pinellas County Animal Services is seeking responsible teen volunteers to assist lead volunteers with dog walking.

Animal Services is looking for teens who are 15 to 18 years of age as of Saturday (June 11). Teens should be able to commit to three days a week, three hours a day, from  June 20 to Aug. 5 and must attend two in-service training days.

Teens with a positive attitude and who can be a role model for this program are encouraged to apply. Application must be received by date of orientation which is Saturday (June 11). Orientation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Space in the program is limited.

Selected teens preparing for the workforce will gain hands-on experience while earning community service hours for graduation. The goals of the Teen Program are to:

Prepare teens in the community for future leadership roles within school, community, and future professional opportunities.

Create a sense of motivation to succeed and teach the importance of drive and determination in professional fields.

Develop invaluable skills necessary in the work force.

Grow as responsible young adults and develop respect for the workforce and what is needed to succeed.
