Pinellas Animal Services Postpones ‘Yappy Day’

Pinellas County announced late today (April 29) that Animal Services will be closed Thursday (April 30). The “Yappy Day” free adoption event will be postponed until Friday (May 1).

PINELLAS COUNTY -Pinellas County Animal Services will close Thursday (April 30) for an employee recognition event. It will resume normal operating hours Friday (May 1).

Yappy Day pet adoption specials will be offered Friday (May 1). During this promotion, dogs older than four months and all cats can be adopted free of charge. The adoption fee for all puppies under the age of four months and small breed dogs will be $25. All dogs and cats that are up for adoption have been spayed or neutered, licensed, fully vaccinated and microchipped, which totals $200 in services.

Pinellas County Animal Services is located at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo. Normal hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the adoption center closing at 5:30 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and services include adoptions. Rabies vaccinations are administered on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.The facility is closed all Pinellas County holidays.
