Construction Begins on Achieva Dog Park Expansion

The city of Dunedin and Achieva Credit Union join to expand and bring improvements to the Achieva Paw Park.

DUNEDIN – The city of Dunedin and Achieva Credit Union have partnered to expand and bring new improvements to the Achieva Paw Park.

Construction for expansion of the park, 1659 Virginia St., began Wednesday 9Nov. 14) and is estimated to be completed in January.

Both the large and small dog areas will be expanded. The large dog area will shut down for construction while the small dog area will remain open. The shut down date for the small dog area is to be determined, based on the progress of construction. In the meantime, Happy Tails Dog Park, 3051 Garrison Road, is available for use and will remain open until Jan.6.

Planned improvements:

  • Fence height will increase from 4 feet to 6 feet in the large dog area
  • One shade structure will be installed and more than 20 trees will be planted for additional shading
  • Additional benches and picnic tables
  • Water fountain

Existing amenities include dog agility poles, tunnels, waste receptacles and cleaning stations. Achieva Paw Park is open to the public from sunrise to sunset.
