The “porthole” is a quick and easy way for Treasure Island residents to ask for service or to report problems.

TREASURE ISLAND – Treasure Island has a new program to allow residents to report problems and request services through the city’s website and smart phone apps. Powered by SeeClickFix, the Treasure Island Porthole allows residents to document neighborhood concerns and improvements, ranging from litter and flooding to damaged sidewalks and malfunctioning traffic signals.

“Our community is a living and changing place,” Treasure Island City Manager Reid Silverboard said. “We see communication and transparency as the lifeblood of a community. As a result, we’ve built the Treasure Island Porthole to make it easier to have those conversations and easier to interact with your Treasure Island government.”

Using the online Treasure Island Porthole webpage or smart phone apps, residents can describe the problem, report the location and even add photos or video as they see the problem in real time. Once a resident submits an issue, the city then acknowledges the service request, routes it to the proper department, and updates the request—and the residents following the issue—once  it’s been resolved.

The Treasure Island Porthole, powered by SeeClickFix, went live Aug. 4 and was implemented by the City Information Technology Department and its Director Mark Santos.

To get started, go to mytreasureisland.org and click or tap the Treasure Island Porthole logo. There you can immediately begin to use SeeClickFix. Residents will also find links to download the Porthole mobile applications for Android or iPhone.

“Your neighbors and friends that will be using the Treasure Island Porthole are helping to make a strong community, a strong community that gives back in immeasurable ways, and we want you to be part of that conversation,” Silverboard said.
