Teens Stole from Kids’ Lemonade Stand, Hillsborough Sheriff Says

An iPod and $13.53 were stolen from two 9 year olds, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. One teen is charged with a felony.

LUTZ – Two 9 year olds selling lemonade in an apartment complex were robbed Thursday (Dec. 28), according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Deante Small, 19, of 15215 Livingston Avenue, No. 52, in Lutz, was charged with robbery by sudden snatching, a felony. The other teen, 16, whose name was not released, was charged with one count each of battery and petty theft, both misdemeanors.

The incident happened about 5 p.m. at the Livingston Apts., 15420 Livingston Ave. in Lutz. Deputies said Lucas White and Zytavia Goodwin, both 9, were selling lemonade from a lemonade stand within the apartment complex community.

The two teens approached the children and ordered a lemonade. Deputies said there was an argument when both teens said they were not satisfied with the amount of lemonade poured in their cups. Deputies said this angered Lucas, so he threw a cup of lemonade on 16 year old. The 16 year old pushed Lucas onto the ground, then snatched an iPod belong to Zytavia off of the lemonade stand.

Deputies said they caught both teens, but the money and iPod were not recovered. Deputies said the teens told them the money was spent at Walmart.
