Tampa Bay Blues Festival Opens Friday in Vinoy Park

A kickoff party is Thursday (April 7) at the Palladium.

ST. PETERSBURG — The Tampa Bay Blues Festival, a waterfront music showcase since 1995, starts Friday (April 8) in downtown St. Petersburg’s Vinoy Park. The festival runs through Sunday. Tickets are priced at various levels, but one-day tickets are $35 Friday, $40 Saturday, and $30 Sunday. Children 12 and under are free.

A kickoff party is Thursday at the Palladium, 235 Fifth Ave. N. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Victor Wainwright and the Wild Roots perform from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Tickets are $20.

At the Vinoy Park, gates open at noon Friday and Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Music continues until 10 p.m. each evening.

Among items organizers encourage fans to bring: Sunscreen/hats, Lawn chairs, Blankets, Personal cameras (no professional equipment), individual umbrellas (for the area located toward the back of the park) and cash — most vendors only accept cash payments.

Do not bring large tents, pets/animals, coolers/food/drinks, alcohol (sold on-site), weapons, guitars or other large instruments, bicycles or other vehicles.
