St. Pete City Offices Set Holiday Schedule

Late-week garbage collection customers will see their pick-ups a day earlier.

ST. PETERSBURG — St. Petersburg city government offices will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. During both holiday weeks, regular trash and recycling pickup for St. Petersburg residential customers normally made on Friday will be collected one day earlier, on Thursday, while Thursday collections will be made on Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday collections will stay the same. Brush sites will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Early Closings: The Mahaffey Theater will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24. Sunken Gardens will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24. North Shore Aquatic Complex will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31. Libraries will close at 4 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31. The Municipal Marina Ship’s Store will close at Noon on Dec. 24.

Golf Courses:  The city’s three public golf courses (Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links and Twin Brooks) will be closed on Christmas Day. All three courses will be open regular hours on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Libraries:  The West Community Library at St. Petersburg College will be closed Dec. 24 through Dec. 27 and Dec. 31 through Jan. 2, but will be open to patrons from Dec. 28 through Dec. 30.  On Dec. 31, the Mirror Lake Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., reopening for First Night St. Petersburg 2016 festivities only from 4 until 8 p.m. For more information, visit .

The Coliseum doors open at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, for the “Swingin’ the New Year” big band event from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Enoch Davis Center will be open Jan. 1 for the Imani (Faith) Kwanzaa event, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
