Artists and creative business administrators are encouraged to attend a workshop about the new techniques.

The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance has announced a trio of marketing tools to promote the arts and the cultural community, and has scheduled a “launch” event and a workshop for Monday (June 27).

The launch and demonstration will be held The St. Petersburg Greenhouse, 440 Second Ave. N at 6 p.m. Free parking for the event is available in the city parking lot (across the street from The Greenhouse). Registration is required as space is limited. Register online at www.stpetegreenhouse.org/MktCreativesJune2016 or call (727) 893-7146.

Here are descriptions of the new marketing tools:

  1. St. Petersburg’s Arts and Culture Guide – A newly designed interactive map that visitors and residents can download to explore the city’s myriad arts and cultural offerings. Use of apps is dramatically increasing, and this free marketing service for St. Petersburg’s studios, galleries, theatres and museums is free for creative businesses and tourists and residents to download.
  2. Online Creative Directory – A new resource to serve our creative business community with information on fine artists, muralists, museums, theatres, and dance companies and more.   There are well over 1,000 creative businesses in St. Petersburg who can use the free Creative Directory: https://stpeteartsalliance.org/creative-directory/.
  3. St. Petersburg’s Studio & Gallery Guide – A citywide printed guide to our studios and galleries. The brochure includes a map that will be distributed to the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, and studios and galleries and any hotels.

A grant from AARP made possible the development of these marketing techniques.

“We are delighted to support our arts community, and help emerging and established businesses benefit from electronic technology,” said Michelle Cyr, AARP in Tampa Bay Field Coordinator. “The electronic tools that come from this grant will benefit all from local individual artists to our venerable museums so they can thrive and help contemporary culture in the arts continue to flourish.”

Artists and creative business administrators are encouraged to attend the event to learn how to use the tools.
